Emanuel and Robert Hart Professor of Medical Ethics, Professor of Pediatrics, Chief, Division of Medical Ethics, University of Pennsylvania

Somatic and germline genomic testing are playing an increasing role in the care of children with cancer. This development poses ethical questions related to the use of translational technology in clinical practice, the appropriate use of genetic testing in children, and informed consent. Building on a review of the evidence, this presentation will articulate the critical questions and suggest key principles for the ethical use of precision medicine in childhood cancer care.
