The implementation of precision medicine will generate vast quantities of genomic data, including information that would routinely be returned in the clinical context. Increasingly, research participants expect to receive such results and researchers question their obligations. This seminar will report on an inter-disciplinary NCI/NHGRI-funded project that asked the next question: Do the responsibilities of researchers extend beyond a participant’s death and include returning results with implications for family members?
