Findings in the field of behavioral genetics often generate a great deal of interest in the mainstream media. Yet, very little is known about the way this information is interpreted by the public. This talk presents empirical evidence that lay people sometimes struggle to make sense of the most unexpected and unconventional findings in this field. Implications for science journalism are discussed.
