Should There Be a Right Not to Know Genetic Information about Yourself?

There has been an extensive debate about whether people should have a right not to know clinically actionable genetic information about themselves. This talk will present recent empirical and normative research projects that give reasons to be critical of a strong conception of the right not to know, arguing instead that it is ethically acceptable to not explicitly solicit individual preferences.
